LBA Academic Year Dress Code

LBA’s dress code ensures that all students have a professional appearance and mitigates the distraction of different attire styles. Please see below for Academic Year Dress Code.

*PLEASE NOTE: There is no required dress code for Session, Satellite, or LBA Summer Classes/Camps. Any color workout clothing or dance attire that can be easily moved in is acceptable. Students must wear the proper dance shoes, and hair should be pulled back neatly off of the neck & out of the face.

All Students

HAIR: We welcome all hair types and textures at LBA (see our IDEA page!) and require students to have their hair secured in a ballet bun or pulled back neatly off of the neck and out of the face. Dancers should have freedom for full movement during jumps, leaps, and turns!

TIGHTS:  CBA does not require a specific brand of tights for any of the classes; however, we prefer students to wear convertible tights. First Steps Division Classes & Children’s Division Unit 1 students are NOT required to wear tights for class, but they will need tights for the CBA First Steps Showcase & Spring Performance!

Ballet tights and shoes should match colors (skin-toned or pink). Visually, this creates one clear, cohesive line from your legs to the rest of your body—highlighting what you are able to achieve in your dancing by elongating the legs. Mismatched shoes and tights “break” that consistent line, which can make you look less than your best.

No jewelry is permitted in class; only small stud earrings may be worn. Students are not permitted outside of the CBA building without street shoes on and clothes worn over dance wear.
